Record Number in Tourist Arrivals

After the reopening of the Maldives borders in 15 July, Maldives has recorded the highest number of daily tourist arrivals. On Twitter, the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom announced that a total of 1,582 tourists arrived to the Maldives on 01 November 2020 alone.He also stated that Maldives had achieved the target set for October and since the reopening of the borders till 28 October 2020, a total of 37,468 tourists had arrived.Depending on the increase in numbers recorded by the Ministry of Tourism (MOT), the Maldives government remains hopeful of the tourism industry recovering steadily.
