President ratifies Infrastructure Plan Bill and new amendments to Decentralisation Act

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has ratified the Infrastructure Plan Bill and new amendments to the Decentralisation Act, which were approved by the parliament on August 22. The bill mandates the President to determine policies related to planning and running infrastructure projects, with the Planning Minister responsible for implementing the Act. The purpose of the Act is to facilitate infrastructure planning, determine principles for sustainable and efficient land use, establish regulations for decentralisation, and increase public participation in infrastructure planning and development processes.
