Beneficiaries of the demised expat workers can now claim pension benefits

On 12 October 2023, an amendment (R-165/2023) was brought to the Regulations on Enrollment and Disbursement of Benefits to Foreign Employees under the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme (Regulations) (R-25/2018).

Upon the demise of the expat worker, the beneficiaries of the deceased are now eligible to claim the pension benefits under the Retirement Pension Scheme.
