World Bank Launches $16.5 Million Initiative to Support the Maldives

The Government of the Maldives and the World Bank have signed a $ 16.5 million project in support of sustainable urban growth and precautionary measures for disaster in the Maldives.Last week, the agreement was signed virtually by Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer and Dr Idah Pswarayi Riddihough, World Bank Country Director for the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.The Maldives Urban Development and Resilience Project will focus on developing the urban infrastructure and tackling the impact of climate change risks.
