Tourist Arrivals to Reach 7000

Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has stated that by the end of this August, the total amount of tourist arrivals will reach 7000.The Minister also mentioned that though this amount is higher than the initially estimated amount, it is still insufficient to recover from the adverse economical impacts Maldives has suffered due to the pandemic. However, the Tourism Ministry remains hopeful the upcoming year will be more successful.Additionally, more than 100 resorts will be granted permits to re-open next year and the government is putting more efforts into the recovery of the tourism industry.
