Implementation of a Travel Agency Regulation

The Association of Travel Agents (ATA) have met with the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom to discuss the Travel Agency Regulation.During this meeting, methods for securing the rights and interests of local travel agencies and solutions for the current challenges faced by the local travel agencies were discussed at length. In implementing this regulation, ATA aims to regulate Online Travel Agents (OTA) and highlighted the importance of providing local travel agencies with economical benefits over foreign travel agencies.ATA expects to finalize the draft regulation on 01 October 2020 and hopes for it to be implemented on 15 October 2020.
