Establishment of Regional Airports Company

On 30 September 2020, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih established the Regional Airports Company Limited under the Presidential decree. The company will be a hundred percent government owned company.In establishing this company, the government aims for it to manage and operate the regional airports in the Maldives developed by the government, which have so far been under the management of an authority by the same name.Within this year alone, the government has opened Ha. Hoarafushi Airport, Sh. Funadhoo Airport, Lh. Madivaru Airport and GDh. Maavarulu Airport.
