Covid-19: Movement Restrictions in Greater Malé Region to be Lifted from June 15

National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has confirmed that movement restrictions in the Greater Malé region will be lifted between 5:00 am to 22:00 pm from June 15th onwards.

Health Ministry’s Assistant Director, Aiminath Shaina Abdulla stated in a press conference that parks and public spaces in the capital will also be opened with proper hygiene measures from June 15th onwards. Restaurants, cafes, salons and barbershops will be allowed to reopen their full operations from July, NEOC added. However, restaurants and cafes will be permitted for take out and deliveries.

Although, health officials have warned that lockdown measures may have to be reimposed depending on the situation.
