Mandatory Requirement for Negative PCR Certificate

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has declared that from 10 September 2020 onward, all tourists and short term visitors arriving to the Maldives will be required to present a negative PCR certificate. It is also required that the PCR test must be done within a maximum of 72 hours prior to the departure to Maldives. This mandatory requirement was implemented to control the number of positive cases in the Maldives which has been increasing at an alarming rate.Despite the leniency provided by the Ministry of Tourism earlier, due to the increase in positive cases within the last few weeks, the Government is enforcing stricter safety standards.
