Covid-19: ROC Comments on the Current Economic Challenges

Mariyam Visam, Registrar of Companies of the Economic Ministry has stated that the Maldives will take time to recover from the economic challenges faced due to the Covid-19 situation.In a special video conference held by the Audit Office, Visam said that these challenges can be conquered once the situation has been analysed to it's full extent. Hence, work has started to ascertain which are the workers who have been let go and the home based workers.She also stated that due to the current situation, there will be a drop in people wanting to travel abroad for work.
