Covid-19: Lockdown To Ease On 28 May 2020

During a press conference given to inform the public on the current Covid-19 situation, Health Minister Abdullah Ameen stated that the first phase of easing the lockdown will be for two weeks.

Although offices are not authorised to commence work during this period, facilities will be provided for more functionality. Supermarkets, Pharmacies, phone shops, textile shops and small corner shops will be authorised to open. Schools will not be commencing.

Minister also stated that lockdown will be eased in phases. However, the greater Malé region will be forced to go back to complete lockdown if the amount of positive cases increase.
