All Tourism Facilities Asked to Register Under Ministry’s Portal

In order to maintain statistics of the Maldives Tourism Industry, all tourism facilities have been asked to submit the relevant information and register under the Ministry’s Tourism Information Management System (TIMS) portal.

The facilities which are not registered yet, have up to the next 3 months to get registered. These obligations are being implemented under the new Regulation on Collection of Data for the Compilation of Tourism Statistics.

Facilities that do not cooperate will be fined, and the fine charges will be handled by MIRA. Tourism Ministry also confirmed that they have the power to withhold the license of tourism facilities which do not pay the fines.
